things and stuff:
1. i survived my first week at home (alone) with adelaide! man, taking care of a baby is boring. they aren't kidding when they say- eat, sleep, poop, repeat. i'm looking forward to the days when she can, i don't know, make eye contact with me. but seriously, things are going well- she's already gotten her days and nights straight (GENIUS!) which is nice.
it's been freezing here so i've got a bit of cabin fever but i'm hoping once it warms up we can add walk to the eat, sleep, poop rotation.
oh, and basil is adjusting well, too! i was pretty worried about his reaction, but so far, so good! he pretty much ignores her once he knows where she is. he sniffs her and then goes to lay down. he does get anxious with visitors but that's typical.
2. if you could see my google history it'd look something like this:
"do all newborns not have eyebrows?"
"do all newborns have dimples?"
"when do newborns eyes change color?"
obviously, things are going pretty smoothly since i'm only concerned with my baby's appearance, ha.
things i'm too scared to google:
"will my belly button ever look normal again?"
3. i'm surprised by how quickly my belly went away. i left the hospital looking about 6 months pregnant and i'd say by day 8 i was officially out of pregnant-looking territory. i think i've lost about 28 pounds already but uh, i gained 42, so it's not like i'm prancing around in a bikini. not that i did that before.
happy weekend!
Omg my google history in those early weeks was hilarious. I don't know how people survived before the internet. I'm so glad to hear things are going well so far! She is so sweet and precious. Nursing will probably help with your weight loss! I gained 27 pounds and lost it all by six weeks, but not a pound since, lol. And the landscape has definitely changed! Everything is rearranged. But my stomach is slowly looking more and more normal. Thanks for popping in with updates. I so enjoy reading about little babies and their mamas. Keep up the good work!
