writing these little intros/bios is always so awkward. do i write in first person? third person? i'm surprised i even know what these things mean because i am not a writer. i will never claim to be (first clue: my lack of capitalization). my better half, sean, has that part covered. maybe i should commission him to do this?
probably not. he would most likely just write about sports and swear a lot.
i started this blog to share our (mostly my) renovations of our first house, on olive street in baton rouge. of course, i was also in graduate school so i didn't always have time to do as many projects as i'd hoped. which translates to- this blog is full of lots of things that don't have to do with the renovation or redecoration of our house. and now we've moved to dc (yay!) and have a whole new (to us) house to decorate and redo!
i realize i still haven't told you about me.
um, i love dogs. and math. and champagne. i have a horrible temper and no patience (everything they say about red heads is true). i am the opposite of a foodie. i could probably eat a veggie burger for dinner every night and be happy. i love taking pictures and hate having my picture taken. when i retire, i want to become a competitive ballroom dancer. you can totally do that when you're old. (never mind that i've only taken two ballroom classes)
i write the majority of the posts around here, but sometimes sean chimes in too. our regular 9-to-5s keep us pretty busy (i'm a statistician and sean works on the hill) but we try to work on the house when we can. i also try to keep this blog, and house stuff in general, as a hobby for me. i'd hate for this little space to become "work", so i keep things pretty light. and more often than not, i'll choose a dinner out with my husband over painting that room that IS STILL YELLOW.
i also use parentheses a lot. (sorry)
