our wedding

we got married on the beach in duck, north carolina.  it was 85 degrees two days before the wedding but by the time friday came along it was 50 and raining off and on.  rain is good luck though, right?

*may 5, 2007*

we managed to hold the (quick!) ceremony outside regardless of the crappy weather.  we just told our guests to suck it up and put a sweater on.

mr. and mrs. smona!

we sent our guests inside to warm (and booze) up while we got some lovely beach shots.

i wanted a larger white flower in my hair but my florist said i was "too small" for it.  weird, right?  in any case, i was really happy with the small pink flowers.

i will never forget when the cake was delivered and the wedding coordinator called me upstairs and asked "is the cake supposed to look like THAT?"  it was. (wedding coordinator was the one vender regret).  i didn't really care about the cake for some reason.  except that it tasted good, of course.   i made the toppers and put them in myself.

i may have illegaly cut this sea grass down the morning of the wedding.

favors. mmm taffy.

we danced to "i'll catch you" by the get up kids.  i got emotional.

but then my dad and i had a much fancier (still unrehearsed) number!  he loves to dance.

sean and his mom took dance lessons!  or was it just one?  ;)

there were excellent toasts!  by excellent bridal party people!

we ate, drank and danced the night away!

  1. i. love. your. dress.
so perfect for a beach wedding. it kind of infuriates me when people wear big poufy numbers for beach weddings, or those glam sequins types. yours is perfect for your setting, and looked gorgeous on!
